SmartSearch has appointed Ian Wright as its new strategic alliances manager, as the anti-money-laundering software firm looks to expand in the UK and abroad.

It says Wright will work with platforms, software systems and consultancies across a range of sectors to integrate the firm’s software.

The business says its client base currently includes more than 2,000 financial services firms and over 1,000 property companies.

Prior to his new role, Wright worked for a year as a partnerships director at Moody’s firm PassFort, leaving in December.

He also worked for 14 years at Creditsafe, leaving as a premier accounts manager in 2016.

SmartSearch managing director Martin Cheek says: “Ian brings with him great knowledge and a proven track record of building and nurturing successful partnerships.

“Importantly, he also understands the heavy burden facing regulated firms to meet the anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer requirements of regulators across the world.”

Wright adds: “SmartSearch is very clear in its ambitions to build on its success and reach out into emerging markets at home and abroad.

“Expanding the partnership network will be a key component to that strategy and will ensure all regulated firms have the ability to mitigate the risk of money laundering and financial crime.”
